AutoGone Plugin

The AutoGone plugin can automatically mark you as being gone (away from the computer) after a specified amount of idle time. Gone status is automatically maintained for multiple connections. This means that you can be marked gone on one server, and chat on another server without affecting the gone status on the first server. The AutoGone plugin also optionally posts your gone message to any connections that are gone at specified intervals. And you can instruct IRCmagic not to perform certain actions while you are gone.

You can quickly mark yourself as gone with the following command:

/gone (optional text here)

where (optional text here) is a temporary gone message that lasts until you are ungone. If no optional text is supplied, the gone message in the AutoGone Setup dialog box is used.

You can quickly mark yourself as ungone with the following command:

/ungone (optional text here)

where (optional text here) is a temporary ungone message. If no optional text is supplied, the ungone message in the AutoGone Setup dialog box is used.

IRCmagic displays the following window:

Following is a description of each item in this window:

Gone Settings

When the Automatically Gone when I am idle for __ (seconds) checkbox is enabled, IRCmagic automatically marks you gone if you have not typed anything to the current connection in the specified amount of time. Use the pop-up menu to specify the unit of measure (seconds, minutes, or hours), and enter the number of units in the edit field.

When the When I am gone, change my nickname to option is checked, IRCmagic will automatically change your nickname to the nickname specified in the edit field, and restore your nickname to what it was before you left when you come back. If you use the <nick> tag in the edit field, it is replaced with your current nickname. See Custom Messages for more information.

When the Post Gone Message option is checked, IRCmagic posts the message specified any time you leave.

If the Repost gone message every __ (seconds) option is checked, IRCmagic posts your gone message and how long you have been gone, at the specified interval.

The While I'm gone section allows you to disable certain features of IRCmagic automatically whenever you are gone. For instance, you may want to disable AutoGreet while you are gone, so that people do not think you are at the computer.

Ungone Settings

When the Post UnGone Message option is checked, IRCmagic posts the correspondng message specified any time you come back.

When the Automatically UnGone when I type (option) option is checked, IRCmagic automatically marks you as Ungone if you are gone and you type something. The pop up menu allows you to choose how IRCmagic reacts to what is typed. If anything is chosen, IRCmagic marks you Ungone when you type anything at all. If any public input is chosen, IRCmagic only marks you Ungone when you type something that does not start with a slash (/). This way if you are talking privately with someone , you will not interrupt your gone state.
