IRCmagic Main Window

This dialog box is a starting point that leads to all of IRCmagic's settings dialog boxes. To display this dialog, type the following command into any Ircle window:

/irc

IRCmagic displays the following dialog box:

Ircle cannot process IRC events while this dialog box is displayed. If you keep this dialog box open for too long while connected to an IRC server, your connection may time out.

The Plugins scrolling list contains a list of all the plugins in the IRCmagic Plugins folder. Click the Enable and Disable buttons to enable or disable the currently-selected plugin in the Plugins list. The Settings button asks the currently-selected plugin to display it's settings dialog box (if the plugin has a settings panel).

When you click the IRCmagic Preferences button, IRCmagic displays the following dialog box:

Startup

If the Load automatically when Ircle starts up checkbox is enabled, IRCmagic sets itself to be started when Ircle is run. It does so by enabling the Ircle Startup Script preference and pointing it to the "IRCmagic" file located in the Ircle scripts folder.

If the Check Scripting Additions at startup checkbox is enabled, IRCmagic checks to be sure required scripting additions are installed during load. Disabling this option shortens the amount of time it takes IRCmagic to load. If you are confident that you have all of the required scripting additions installed, you may want to disable this option.

Notifications

If the Display plugin Load/Unload messages checkbox is enabled, IRCmagic displays a notification each time a plugin is loaded or unloaded. Disable this checkbox if you do not wish to see notifications when plugins are loaded or unloaded.

If the Display IRCmagic notifications checkbox is enabled, IRCmagic displays status messages while it is loaded. If you do not wish to see status messages while IRCmagic is loaded, disable this option. When this option is enabled, messages are either displayed in the current window, or in the Console window.

Plugins

When Automatically load plugins when added to Plugins folder is checked IRCmagic will watch the IRCmagic Plugins folder and load and unload plugins when thy are added or removed from the Plugins folder.

The Send Idle events to plugins every ___ seconds setting allows you to set how often "Idle" events are sent to plugins. Increasing this time can dramatically improve the performance of IRCmagic, especially on slower machines or with large numbers of loaded plugins. Use the pop-up menu to specify the unit of measure (seconds, minutes, or hours), and enter the number of units in the edit field.

Language

All dialogs and panels in IRCmagic can display text in multiple languages. When IRCmagic first loads, it sets this menu to the language being used by the system software. The language being used by the system is in italics in the menu. To change the language bing displayed, choose a new languag from this pop-up menu. If the chosen language is not available, English is used instead.
