Running IRCmagic

There are two ways you can run IRCmagic in Ircle. This section describes each method and shows you how to set up Ircle to run IRCmagic.

Auto-Load IRCmagic At Startup

This section shows you how to set up Ircle to automatically load IRCmagic whenever you run Ircle. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Run Ircle.
  2. Choose File > Preferences…. Ircle displays the Preferences window.
  3. Click the Scripts tab (at the top of the Preferences window) to display the Scripts pane (shown below).
  4. Under the Scripts folder section, click Set…. Ircle displays a standard choose folder dialog box. Select the Scripts folder in which you installed IRCmagic, then click Choose.
  5. Check the Startup Script box to tell Ircle you want to load a script each time you launch Ircle.
  6. Under the Startup Script section, click Set…. Ircle displays a standard choose file dialog box. Navigate to the Scripts folder in which you installed IRCmagic, select the script file named "IRCmagic", then click Choose.
  7. Uncheck the Show spinning beachball cursor during lengthy scripts box. Since IRCmagic falls into the category of "lengthy scripts", this prevents Ircle from showing the beachball cursor while IRCmagic is running.

The Preferences window should look similar to this:

Next you need to save the changes you have made to the Ircle preferences.

  1. Click OK to save your changes to the Preferences window.
  2. Choose File > Save preferences to save Ircle preferences to disk.

Loading IRCmagic Manually

This section shows you how to load IRCmagic manually rather than having it load automatically when you run Ircle. Follow these steps:

  1. Run Ircle.

Since Ircle does not automatically load IRCmagic when you set it up this way, you will need to load IRCmagic yourself after Ircle runs. To load IRCmagic manually, type the following into any Ircle window:

/load ircmagic
